Our Commitment

Clare Connolly Weight Loss Clinic is committed to promoting equality, valuing diversity, and fostering an inclusive environment for all patients, staff, and visitors. We believe that every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their background or personal characteristics.

We comply fully with the Equality Act 2010 and the Human Rights Act 1998, and we are committed to the NHS Equality Delivery System (EDS) and the Public Sector Equality Duty.

Protected Characteristics

We do not discriminate, directly or indirectly, on the basis of any of the nine protected characteristics defined in the Equality Act 2010:

  • Age

  • Disability

  • Gender reassignment

  • Marriage and civil partnership

  • Pregnancy and maternity

  • Race (including colour, nationality, and ethnic or national origin)

  • Religion or belief

  • Sex

  • Sexual orientation

Our Approach to Patient Care

We are committed to providing equitable, person-centred care that is responsive to the individual needs of every patient. This means:

  • Treating all patients with equal dignity, respect, and compassion.

  • Tailoring our consultations and communications to meet individual needs, including those with disabilities or communication requirements.

  • Ensuring our services are accessible to all eligible patients, regardless of their background.

  • Actively listening to patient feedback and using it to improve our services.

  • Challenging and addressing any discriminatory behaviour or language, whether from staff or patients.

Staff and Employment

We are an equal opportunities employer. All recruitment, training, promotion, and employment decisions are made on the basis of merit and the requirements of the role. We do not tolerate harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind in the workplace.

All staff receive equality and diversity training as part of their induction and ongoing professional development, in line with CQC requirements.

Reasonable Adjustments

We will make reasonable adjustments to our services and communications to ensure they are accessible to patients with disabilities or other specific needs. If you require an adjustment — such as information in an alternative format, a longer appointment, or support with communication — please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Raising a Concern

If you feel you have been treated unfairly or discriminated against, we encourage you to raise this with us directly. We take all concerns seriously and will investigate them promptly and fairly.
